I appreciate the vulnerability it takes to share your story

Who i am

I’m Mary (they/them), a licensed independent social worker who specializes in adult gender affirming mental health care.

I approach therapy from a compassionate, relational, person-centered perspective, and draw from an eclectic range of therapeutic approaches. I truly believe that therapy is most effective when it's collaborative - you are the expert on you; sometimes you may just need a little outside perspective to tap into that expertise in new and grounded ways. I recognize that a lot of things feel particularly heavy these days, and I’m committed to working with you to create a space that feels as warm and safe as possible, while de-pathologizing normal responses to a world on fire.

I am a full member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), and I'm currently pursuing certification through their Global Education Institute (GEI). I am also a member of Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality (formerly GLMA), as well as the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Ohio Chapter.

Who I work with

I specialize in providing competent, affirming care to queer, transgender, and gender expansive adults (18+), as well as working with clients who are managing chronic illness, anxiety, depression, self-injury, neurodivergence, and religious trauma and/or spiritual abuse. For the past ten years I have worked with diverse adult populations in both outpatient clinical and community-based settings, as well as private practice.

I have extensive training in human sexuality and anti-oppressive social work practice. I welcome and enjoy working alongside folks with ethically non-monogamous relationship structures, and am affirming to the kink, fat, and sex-worker communities.
